Service Details
CityScape SLIP connections:
CityScape will initially provide 6 UK PoPs from which to access the
Internet, with a total of 210 lines:
London (60), Edinburgh (30), Manchester (30), Bristol (30),
Birmingham (30) and Cambridge(30).
Each PoP will be connected by at least a 64K connection to PIPEX's
backbone (2M from London PoP, 128K from Edinburgh, direct to
backbone at Cambridge). From there, PIPEX provide a 768K
(+compression) link to Alternet and 2M to JIPs - full details can be
obtained from the maps held at ftp.pipex.net. IP address are
randomly allocated from a central pool - this allows users to use
any of the PoPs and move between them without informing CityScape.
